British courier CitySprint makes regional acquisition

CitySprint has acquired Birmingham-based courier company PBS Deliveries for an undisclosed sum to expand its national network whilst further strengthening its established Midlands operations.

CitySprint, with 31 locations and a fleet of over 1,500 couriers, said that despite the current economic turmoil it is continuing its successful growth strategy of focussing on organic expansion and strategic add-on acquisitions to maintain its strong foothold and grow its market share.

The company has taken over PBS’s city centre location and will retain its staff as well as its 25 self-employed couriers. PBS owner and founder Kris Mazumder will remain at CitySprint as Logistics Manager, managing the Birmingham business.

CitySprint has relocated its Leeds ServiceCentre to larger premises in line with increasing demand in the area. The new ServiceCentre is located at Unit 18, Enterprise Park Industrial Estate, Old Lane, Moorhouse Avenue, Beeston, Leeds, LS11 8HA.

In addition to its Leeds ServiceCentre CitySprint has a network of 30+ ServiceCentres across the UK. This cross-country coverage is unique in the courier industry and enables CitySprint to provide a truly national or local service like no other same day courier company. Through its network of regional ServiceCentres and ServiceCentre based customer services teams CitySprint is able to provide its clients with local knowledge and expertise, regardless of where they might be based.
