TNT names regional GM for South East Asia

TNT has appointed Michael Drake as regional general manager for TNT Express in South East Asia.

Drake will be responsible for the company’s business in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia, as well as agent operations in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. These markets contributed nearly one third to TNT’s revenue in Asia last year.

UPS highest in delivery customer satisfaction

UPS ranks highest in business customer satisfaction for domestic air, ground and international delivery, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2004 Small-Package Delivery Service Business Customer Satisfaction Study(SM). This study is based on 913 telephone interviews with shipping managers and other business personnel at U.S. businesses that have at least 10 employees at a specific location and spend USD10,000 or more annually to ship small packages (up to 150 lbs.). UPS performs particularly well in all three segments in the areas of shipping and delivery, delivery drivers, delivery tracking and communication.

Amtrak launch evening deliveries

Amtrak has launched an extended evening delivery service in response to the increasing demand for home deliveries.

The company trialled deliveries in specific time windows between 5.30pm and 8.30pm in London, and is now offering the service as standard in other cities including Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Sheffield and Glasgow.

FedEx reveals details of Kinkos integration

The world’s largest air-express shipper revealed further details on how it plans to integrate Kinko’s, which it acquired in January for USD2.4bn, into the FedEx system. Kinko’s stores primarily offer print copy services to walk-in customers and small- and medium-sized businesses. FedEx expects to transform the Kinko’s stores, which number over 1,000 in the US, into full-service shipping centers where customers can handle all their document needs – from printing to packing to shipping. In the next few months, the company expects to implement its full line of shipping services in stores, including packaging. FedEx will also use its international network to expand Kinko’s outlets overseas.
