FedEx Honored As One of the World’s Most Admired Companies

FedEx Corp. was honored today as one of the Top 10 most admired companies in the world by Fortune magazine. It is the company’s third consecutive year to finish in the Top 10 on Fortune’s “Global Most Admired” list, and follows FORTUNE’s recognition of FedEx as one of the Top-10 “America’s Most Admired” companies last week for the third consecutive year. Earlier this month, FedEx was rated seventh, its highest-ever ranking, in the Harris Interactive/ Reputation Institute’s annual corporate reputation survey published in The Wall Street Journal. FedEx is one of the only companies to rank this highly in all three reputation surveys and the only transportation company to be included in the Top 10 in all three reputation surveys.

Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp has expanded its US Express Freight Services to include Saturday delivery for FedEx 1Day(R) Freight, FedEx 2Day(R) Freight and FedEx International Priority(R) Freight shipments to several U.S. metropolitan markets. “By extending the same reliable Express Freight service to Saturday, shippers now have more time-definite delivery options for their high-value freight shipments,” said Dan Mullally, senior vice president of sales for FedEx Services. “This new expanded service reflects our ongoing commitment to help shippers reduce costs and achieve faster inventory turns.”

Express industry changes Italian business style

The express industry has become such a powerful fixture in Italy’s economy that the loss of night flights by the industry could reduce Italian GDP by up to €780 million a year, adding up to over €30 billion in foregone GDP over a period of 20 years, according to a study by Oxford Economic Forecasting and the Centro Studi Confindustria.

The figures highlight the radical inroads the express industry has made into the Italian economy. Over the next twenty years, the contribution of the industry to Italian GDP could increase to €2.1 billion
a year.
