UPS Opens Supply Chain “Window” With Quantum View Manage

UPS have announced the launch of Quantum ViewSM Manage, a technology application that allows UPS small package shippers to more easily monitor package movements within their supply chains and use that information to improve service to their customers. Quantum View Manage is a Web-based application that allows shippers to view shipment information for multiple accounts without a tracking number – easily seeing when a package is processed, in transit or when it arrives – or if and why it is delayed.

Business Post builds a new European express network

Express carrier Business Post has launched a European road delivery service – Eurodis – in partnership with independent companies across western Europe.
The new bilateral agreements replace arrangements with agents and will help the expansion of its international business by providing return business.

“We are hoping to double turnover in the international express business within the next 12 months, ” said international MD Brian Jenkins. Currently it accounts for 6 percent, or GBP21m, of turnover.

Chronopost 2003 turnover up 7%

Chronopost International, the express distribution arm of the French post office, expects its 2003 turnover to show an increase of just over 7% on the previous levels, French business newspaper Les Echos reported. Chronopost CEO, Gilles Moutel said maket conditions in 2003 had been the porest for 5 years and that there are few signs of recovery in the sector.
