TNT Logistics Spain wins EMI Music Contract

TNT Logistics in Spain has announced that it has won a long-term contract with EMI Music Spain, part of the EMI Group plc.

TNT Logistics will take over EMI’s logistics and distribution activities, which are currently managed in-house in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Madrid where EMI stores music CDs and other materials and prepares the orders for its clients in Spain and Portugal. The work involves picking, packing and shipping of EMI’s CDs, music cassettes and DVDs and shipping them to the sales point in the Iberian Peninsula.

DHL increases capacity on Hong Kong – Shanghai service

DHL will increase payload capacity on its Hong Kong-Shanghai and Hong Kong-Manila services in response to increasing demand and surging intra-Asia volumes.

DHL has announced that with effect from Tuesday, capacity on the Hong Kong-Shanghai service will be increased by 60 percent and operated by an Airbus A300B4 freighter with a capacity of 35 tons.

Heppner buys French parcel network

French independent transport and logistics group Heppner is to buy the domestic deferred parcel delivery network, XP France, from investment group Caravelle.

The deal is expected to go through by the end of the monthsubject to regulatory approval.

Caravelle, which specialises in company rescues, acquired the firm from TNT in June 2001, after it made a Eur10m loss.
