DHL Opens New Cargo Hub At Jkia, Kenya
DHL Express has opened a new air express facility at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The facility, Kenya’s largest-ever, is aimed at bolstering DHL Kenya’s position as a transport hub for the East and Central Africa region. The 2200 sq metre facility will operate 24 hours to consolidate inbound and outbound express shipments, and trans-shipment to the DHL Global network, including East and Central Africa, South Africa and the Middle East Region. “The opening of DHL’s new hub is an important milestone for company. As the largest hub of its kind in Kenya, with Customs and Excise personnel on site to manage import/export processing, it will greatly enhance the company’s position as a distribution and transport hub for this region,” said Howard Goldfield, DHL Commercial Manager for Equatorial Africa.
