Integrators beat the Russians to the post

According to a survey by Research International DHL now holds 5 1% of the Russian domestic express market, followed by TNT on 19% UPS with 10% and FedEx with 7% DHL Worldwide and TNT Russia both announced last month that their revenues grew in excess of 30% last year. while UPS recorded “double-digit” growth.
TNrs increase of 40% was the highest rate of growth among all 200 countries it operates in, according to Harro van Graafeiland, the company’s general manager.
He attributes the growth to a rapidly recovering economy and increased demand from Russian companies for reliable domestic delivery services.

DHL sacks 450

Following the industrial crisis which rocked Nigeria’s foremost courier services company, DHL, the management has announced the sacking of 450 staff of the company in Lagos.
Disclosing this figure in his office was the chairman of DHL, Mr. Gbenga Oladimeji. He said the sack became necessary because the striking workers refused to adhere to the instructions given by the management to resume normal working activities.

Business Post to hire former Post Office CEO

Business Post is hiring Bill Cockburn, a former chief executive of the Post Office, as non-executive deputy chairman.
Mr Cockburn, 59, was chief executive of the Post Office from 1992 to 1995 and stood down last year as BT’s group managing director after overseeing the restructuring of its UK operations.
