TNTs Centrepoint hub opens
TNT’s largest ever UK investment has opened. The £22m parcel and document sortation centre at Kingsbury Link, Tamworth is the centrepoint for the company’s ‘hub and spoke’ U K collection and delivery network.

Finland Post has no plans to outsource distribution
Oct 17, 2001 (NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT via COMTEX) — The Finnish postal
services company Finland Post issued a statement today (17 October) denying
reports in Finnish media that it had plans to outsource mail distribution to
private sector companies.
Contract: Parceline & Beta Distribution
Parceline has secured a contract to supply third-party logistics solutions to Beta Distribution, the elctronic supplies company. The contract will include overnight distribution, flexible shared-user warehousing and just-in-time pick, pack and despatch.

UPS is to pour more than US$100m (E117m) into expanding its Cologne hub, despite protests from environmentalists.
The US integrator will start construction at Konrad Adenauer airport in the third
quarter of next year, with completion expected in 2005.
A UPS spokesman said: ‘The building is being expanded to position us for the future. We are more than doubling the sort capacity from 60,000 to 135,000 packages an hour.”
Dupont awards contract to TDG & UBC JV Nylog
Dupont has awarded a £1m (Euro 1.6m) contract to Nylog, a joint venture between TDG and UBC for the distribution of nylon polymer in the UK.
