Fiat renews logistics contract with TNT Logistics

TNT Logistics and Fiat SpA said they have renewed their
contract for packaging, storage and spare parts distribution to
dealers in Italy and warehouses in Europe for a further five years.
Under the terms of the agreement, TNT Logistics will receive 150 mln
eur per year for the next five years, the companies said in a joint
statement.

Consignia: Hays licence is threat to universal postal service

The Independent, has reported that Consignia (the British post office) warned yesterday that its ability to provide a universal postal service was under threat after the industry’s regulator took the historic step of granting the first licence to a competitor. Senior managers at the state-owned Consignia, formerly known as the Post Office, declared last night that Hays Commercial Services was being allowed to cream off the most lucrative trade. It is the first time the British mail service has encountered competition since the initial monopoly was granted in 1654. Hays has been given a year-long licence to deliver business documents before 8am in parts of London, Edinburgh and Manchester, which have been the preserve of the Royal Mail.

POSTAL workers’ union CWU condemned industry regulator PostComm’s decision
yesterday to license privateer Hays to deliver business mail. CWU national officer Pat O’Hara warned: “They are not just allowing but
encouraging a commercial firm to cream off the profitable business.” Hays was given a year-long licence to deliver business documents before 8am in
