TNT Germany laid the foundations of the world’s third-largest logistics facility and of its new branch in Wiesbaden in January 2000. The installation’s name: TNT Mega Hub Rhein Main.
Little over a year later, in February of this year, the huge terminal was put into operation and recently officially inaugurated.
GERRY Smith, the managing director of Consignia’s services group, forecast
yesterday that flogging off the 40,000 Royal Mail and Parcelforce vehicles
would bring “significant cost savings and efficiencies.” But those benefits will not be for Post Office staff or the vast bulk of its
customers.
Yesterday the French post office, La Poste, made official its appointment of Paul-Marie Chavanne as chairman of Geopost, its parcels and logistics holding company.

German distribution group Hermes is close to sealing a co-operation deal with TNT Post Group to step up competition with Deutsche Post AG.
