Geodis release 2001 results

Geodis, the French logistics group, said net loss over 2001 mounted to 138 million euro, up from a loss of 27 million euro in 2000. Net sales were up 2.4 per cent, to 3.5 billion euro, operating income was up 71 per cent, till 34.6 million euro. Diluted net loss per share was 26.42 euro, against 5.12 euro over 2000.

French La Poste only Greek Post Office bidder; TPG withdraws courier bid

French post office La Poste is the sole remaining bidder for 10 pct of the Greek post office ELTA and 50 pct of its courier unit, after TNT Post Groep NV decided not to bid for the courier stake, said the Greek Ministry of Transport and Communications.
There are plans to float 25 pct of ELTA on the stock exchange shortly.
ELTA had 352.1 mln eur sales in 2001 with profits estimated at 14.6 mln eur, said the ministry.

Penauille shows solidity in a crisis

The slowdown in the air transport industry following the 11 September attacks has impacted on performance at Servisairs French parent company, Penauille Polyservices.
Profits fell to EUR15.9m from EUR21.4m in the previous year. But the company said: Growth in airport services remained positive in the fourth quarter, increasing by 1.1% over 2000 levels, emphasising the groups solidity when faced with crisis conditions in the market.
