The waiting game

I am pretty sure that I am not the only person in the world to be left foaming at the mouth, confined to my house until 3.30pm waiting for a package that was supposed to be delivered “some time during the morning”. With work commitments, school-runs, and a plethora of other socially stimulating tasks to carry out during the average day, clearing the diary in order to wait for a delivery can be a tedious process.

DPD Ireland chooses Blackbay and Intermec to deliver mobile workforce solution

Blackbay today announced that DPD Ireland, formerly Interlink Ireland Ltd, has chosen Blackbay’s Delivery Connect mobile tracking solution to enable the real-time online tracking of deliveries for DPD Ireland’s customers. DPD Ireland, owned by La Poste, the French Post Office, and Ireland’s premier provider of next day parcel delivery, has awarded the contract worth in excess of GBP 1 million to Blackbay and global data capture hardware manufacturer Intermec.

The contract will see DPD Ireland implementing Blackbay’s Delivery Connect mobile software solution on Intermec’s integrated GPS and GPRS enabled CN3 rugged mobile computers. DPD Masterlink introduces international service between Poland and Ireland

DPD Masterlink introduced a new international service between Poland and Ireland. The company offers 4-5 days time delivery at the net price of 99 PLN.

As a result of the migration of 100 to nearly 250 thousand Poles to Ireland, new market needs arose. These are being fulfilled by the creation of a friendly and cozy, local atmosphere. In Ireland you can not only read a Polish paper, but also buy a traditional Polish sausage and pickles.

Most Poles migrated from districts such as: podkarpacki, lubelski, opolski and warminsko-mazurski. People from these regions showed the biggest interest in the possibilities of sending parcels to their families in Ireland. DPD Masterlink in cooperation with the partner company Interlink in Ireland (also a member of the GeoPost Group), introduced a new, cheap international service. Parcels weighing up to 31,5 kilos can be sent to Ireland for only 99 PLN.

Delivery occurs within 4-5 days. The popularity of the new service as well as the number of sent parcels is growing.

Parcels can be sent to Ireland from all 50 DPD Masterlink depots in Poland.
