French deliver E18m for new Interlink facility

La Poste France, the French post office, is investing E18m to build a distribution hub for Interlink, an Irish company that is owned by the French operator. The firm aims to fill the void created by the closure last year of An Post’s loss-making SDS parcel-delivery service.

The 70,000-sq-ft sorting facility near Athlone, will double the delivery capacity for Interlink, which expects to generate revenues of E40m this year and make more than 15m drops.

Parceline has 42 depots and Interlink Express 113. Quoting the biggest numbers avilable, Parceline employees are 4100 and Interlink 3300 (to be exact that is 4154 and 3381).

Dispatch firm links processes

The Interlink Express depot in Venture Crescent, Alfreton, has become part of a GBP3m UK investment plan to improve its service to small and medium businesses.
The company is launching three new timed next-day deliveries at 9.30am, noon and 3pm. There are also two timed deliveries on Saturdays at 9am and noon.
Interlink Express has also set up a new hotline and email customer service link.
