TNT switches Stockholm flights (Sweden)
TNT Express has switched flights from its European air hub at Liege to Stockholm from the city’s main airport, Arlanda, to the smaller Vasteras airport in order to improve its logistics operations.
TNT Sweden said that since August 21 it has been operating five weekly flights between Liege and Vasteras with a B757, with capacity for up to 35 tonnes. The new route replaces the previous one to Stockholm Arlanda with a stopover at Orebro. Vasteras lies mid-way between the Swedish capital and Orebro.
TNT also said that in future it will fly five times a week to Riga with a SAAB 340.
TNT Sweden, with some 400 employees, carried about 2.6 million shipments and generated revenues of SEK 878 million (EUR 92 million) in 2006, according to information on its website.
