'Small is beautiful' for growing network

Pall-Ex, the UK’s largest pallet network, believes the slowing economy won’t damage its prospects for growth. Alan Cramley, sales and marketing director, said last week: “People may be saying the economy is quiet, but that means small deliveries more often, which suits our typical consignment size of one to three pallets.” The company is confident of matching last year’s 40% growth rate and last week moved into its new GBP10m (EUR14.5m) hub near Coalville in Leicestershire.

UK Palletised freight network Pall-Ex is expanding into Europe and anticipating 35%- 40% growth this year.
Last year, the network saw volumes increase $0% and has outgrown its hub in Nottinghamshire. On 28th March, the company will open a new purpose built 20, 000sq metre hub in Leicestershire.

Prestons of Potto has joined Pall-Ex, the consortium of ahliers set up to deliver palletised consignments around the UK. Prestons, which has an annual turnover exceeding £20m (30.6m Euros) and over 220 vehicles, will act for Pall-Ex in the Teeside region.
