Read MorePosten, Sweden’s national postal service, said yesterday that it acquired Post Denmark’s 50 percent interest in Direct Link Worldwide NV and will make it a wholly owned subsidiary. Posten said the acquisition will allow it to compete better in the international mail markets and bring Direct Link’s strength and globalization to Swedish companies looking to go international.

Effective May 1, 2003, Erik Olsson is the new President and CEO of Posten. Claes Ånstrand will step down as chairman of Posten at the Annual General Meeting on April 25, 2003. The Annual General Meeting will appoint Telia’s former CEO, Marianne Nivert, as the company’s new chairman. Ms. Nivert joined Posten’s board in December 2002.
