TNT Express wins quality rankings in France and Germany

TNT Express has scored highly in two recent customer service rankings in Germany and France. The express operator was judged the “most customer-friendly service company in Germany” category in an annual ranking of 100 service providers. TNT Express was the only transport and logistics company in the top ten of the ranking compiled by the University of St Gallen, Steria Mummert Consulting and business newspaper Handelsblatt. In France, the company’s international customer service won a silver medal at a recent European customer relationship congress in the category of phone-based B2B customer relationships ahead of 120 other companies.

TNT sets up Malaysian security control centre

TNT Express has invested up RM1 million to set up Asia Security Control and Command Centre (ASCCC) in Petaling Jaya for its Asia Road Network. “The amount is part of the RM15 million investment for this year, including the upgrade and and expansion of our facilities in Johor Baru, Penang and Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which are scheduled for completion by year-end,” its managing director, Gerry Power, said at a media preview of ASCCC today. Power said the network would be extended to link over 120 cities spanning 4,000km once Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are added later this year and China in 2007.

TNT first in Bahrain to pass top international safety standard

TNT Express is Bahrain’s first express provider to achieve the OHSAS 18001 prestigious international occupational health and safety certification. ‘Customer service is at the heart of everything we do and achieving OHSAS 18001 accreditation highlights our commitment to health and safety. This certification increases worker confidence and consequently enhances service levels which benefit the end user and considered highly important,’ said Ahmed Gamal, Country Manager, TNT Bahrain. The company has three more high-level certifications planned for the year in Quality Management, Environmental Management and Social Accountability in a move to further improve its service levels.

Hermes and TNT poised to launch strategic cooperation

German parcels carrier Hermes Logistik Group and TNT Express are set to launch their strategic cooperation in Germany within the next few weeks. Hermes is also progressing on creating a European B2C delivery network and plans to start selling parcel transport to European destinations in September. Announcing their strategic parcels alliance last December, the two companies said that they would cooperate in several areas of production, with TNT using Hermes’ domestic linehaul network and Hermes using TNT’s hub capacity and offering TNT express services through its network of 11,000 PaketShops.

Jobs boost as TNT UK engages extra numbers

TNT is providing a further jobs boost to the North East with news of an additional 40 vacancies at the company’s recently opened GB4.5 million national customer contact centre at Team Valley near Gateshead. TNT Express Services moved into the new facility at Maingate House at the back end of last year and now expect to have a full complement of 240 employees by the end of 2006.
