TPG hires top executives to head Logistics expansion in Central Europe

Mail, Express and Logistics company TPG N.V. is pleased to announce it has hired Günther Thiel (50), Christian Fürstaller (38) and Rodolphe Schoettel (41) to head the expansion of its logistics operations under the TNT Logistics brand in the Central European region, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Thiel will join TPG in May. The others will start at TPG within a few months.

TNT Logistics to takeover entire warehousing operations for Pirelli in Germany and establish new warehouse

TNT Logistics is significantly extending its partnership with tyre manufacturer Pirelli. TNT Logistics will immediately take over the entire warehousing activities at the German-based Höchst/Odenwald production site, which until now had been carried out by the manufacturer. In a further move, TNT Logistics will construct a new 40,000 m2 spare parts warehouse commencing 2004.

BAT, Swedish Match to present joint offer for Italy's ETI

British American Tobacco PLC and Swedish Match AB will present a joint offer for tobacco manufacturer ETI SpA, which the Italian government is privatising, news agency Radiocor said citing financial sources close to the deal.

TPG NV unit TNT Logistics is expected to pull out of the bidding process, the news agency said.

Suzuki renews contract with TNT Logistics

TNT Logistics has clinched a 3 year renewal of its contract with Suzuki GB to deliver to 145 car dealerships 5 days a week. Under the new deall, TNT Logistics will operate a combined daily delivery service out of a central warehouse in Crawley, West Sussex, with outbases at Carlisle, Doncaster, Lutterworth and Bristol.
