TNT Logistics & Italian Pirelli extend logistics contract in Germany

Italian tyre producer Pirelli has extended its logistics contract in Germany with Dutch TNT NV’s Logistics unit the end of 2009, TNT Logistics said on May 10, 2006. Financial details were not available. The extension of the contract by additional three years confirms the successful cooperation between both companies, which started more than 15 years ago.

TNT Logistics signs 3-yr contract with Grundfos worth undisclosed amount

TNT NV said its TNT Logistics division has signed a three-year agreement with Grundfos, a worldwide manufacturer of pumps, worth an undisclosed amount.

Under the terms of the contract, TNT Logistics will develop and implement supply chain solutions for Grundfos.

TNT Express and its TNT Freight Management unit also signed the agreement, because Grundfos recognised the added value of their network capabilities in the supply chain, TNT said.

No financial details were disclosed.

TNT gets European logistics contract from Johnson & Johnson

TNT Logistics has received a five-year contract from US personal care products maker Johnson & Johnson for the management of a new European distribution centre, TNT said on March 30, 2006. Financial details were not disclosed.
Johnson & Johnson will invest 33 mln euro (USD39.8 mln) in the distribution centre, which will cover an area of 19,000 sq m. The distribution centre will be located near Charleroi, Belgium, and will become operational in the third quarter of 2006. The new centre is expected to create between 120 and 160 jobs until 2008.

TNT wins 12 Mln Euro logistics contract from Italian Pininfarina

Dutch mail and logistics group TNT NV signed a 12 mln euro (USD14.4 mln) logistics services contract with Italian car design company Pininfarina SpA, TNT said on March 29, 2006. Under the three-year contract, TNT Logistics’ Italian division will manage spare parts supply and component transportation from more than 100 suppliers to the production sites of the new Alfa Romeo Brera. More than half of TNT’s Italian logistics unit’s sales come from services to the automotive sector. The unit’s customers include Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Renault.
