LG renews contract with TNT Logistics in Italy

LG Electronics, the Korean electronics giant has signed a renewal contract with TNT Logistics in Italy. TNT Logistics will continue for another three years to act as the sole logistics provider in Italy for LG. The activities include the operations of goods receiving, handling and storage, order preparation, dispatch and returns management for the entire range of products marketed by LG Electronics, which are high value products such as white goods (refrigerators and washers), TV sets, PC’s, laptops, LC screens and cell phones, throughout Italy. Since 2000 TNT Logistics Italy has been the sole logistics partner of LG Electronics Italia.

Michelin Siam awards contract to TNT Logistics

TNT Logistics has been awarded a contract by Michelin Siam Marketing and Sales Co., Ltd. to handle logistics functions for its two tyre production plants in Thailand, as well as its domestic and export warehouse facilities. The awarding of this contract further strengthens TNT’s position as a leading provider of logistics services to the tyre sector. Under the new contract, TNT Logistics will manage the material flows and clearance of tyres to and from Michelin Siam’s two production plants. TNT Logistics will also oversee the operation of Michelin Siam’s two main warehouses: its domestic warehouse and export warehouse.

TNT Logistics in Italy expands co-operation with Beta Utensili

Beta Utensili, a manufacturer of high quality hand tools, work wear and professional safety shoes, has signed a contract with TNT Logistics Italy. The five-year contract with Beta envisages that TNT Logistics will provide logistics for tools and small parts marketed by Beta Utensili and adds to an existing contract. The new agreement expands on the one signed in 2001. TNT Logistics will manage goods receiving, handling and storage, order preparation and dispatch throughout Italy as well as managing the administration of returns for Beta. TNT Logistics will operate a dedicated area of 11,500 m2 for the customer within its own plant at Zingonia.

TNT Logistics UK joins DLS for logistics bid

TNT Logistics UK, a business unit of the global logistics company TPG, has agreed with the shareholders of Defence Logistic Solutions (DLS) to take a 20 per cent shareholding in DLS, which is bidding for the UK MoD Defence Logistics Organisation’s Future Defence Supply Chain initiative, a programme to streamline logistics for the UK armed forces. TNT Logistics UK is providing a team of equipment and logistics specialists to the DLS team in bidding for FDSCi. The other shareholders are BAE Systems (now including Alvis; formerly a shareholder in their own right) and Westland Helicopters.
