TNT eyes 20pc growth in life sciences market

TNT, the global business logistics and business-to-business express provider, sees continuous growth of 20 percent for the life sciences market in Malaysia, specifically in the pharmaceutical and clinical trial research sectors.

TNT Asia’s general manager for life sciences Ni Sheng Jie said TNT is on track to achieve this success as all signs are pointing upwards.

Greek CEP market growing strongly

The four CEP giants FedEx, DHL,TNT and UPS with their international presence generated the ‘lion‘s share‘ of sales, reporting a total of EUR 35 million. This is especially the case with DHL, itself a subsidiary of Deutsche Post, clearly the market leader in Greece as it alone controls 60% of the Greek domestic market. Other domestic market leaders in this sector include companies like ACS and Speed Air. Alongside these privately run enterprises there is also the state owned Post Elta with its subsidiary Elta Express, which entered the CEP market in the year 2000.

No approval for TPG’s figures

Auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has refused to endorse the 2003 annual report of TNT Post Group (TPG) because the company has been unable to reach an agreement with the British taxman on an outstanding claim. According to TPG’s CEO Peter Bakker, the investigation into the claim, which dates back to the late nineties and could cost the company up to Eur40m.
