South Korea upgrades Incheon duty-free zone

South Korea says it will expand the duty-free zone at Incheon International Airport near Seoul as part of the government’s effort to turn the gateway into a logistics hub for Northeast Asia. Officials say construction on a customs-free area due for completion next year. An additional 10 million square-feet will also be designated as part of the duty-free zone “as early as in February,” a spokesman at the Ministry of Construction and Transportation said.

TNT opens office in Mekong Delta, Vietnam

TNT Vietrans Express Worldwide Limited Company, a joint venture between the TNT group and the Ministry of Trade, opened an office the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho.

TNT is the first company to open office in Can Tho since it became a central city. The office is expected to help promote economic development in the city and the region through its quick postal services including express distribution of letters and packages. TNT can transport 3.6 million express parcels to 222 countries a week.
