DHL Turkey launches invest in Turkey campaign

DHL Turkey, the local arm of Belgium-based express delivery group DHL, launched its Invest in Turkey campaign, aimed at attracting foreign investors to the country, it was reported on December 7, 2005.

The initiative will be carried out in three stages and the first one envisages attracting investors’ attention towards Turkey by attaching “Invest in Turkey” stickers on all parcels, CEO Andy Baker said. The company forwards more than 100,000 packages monthly to various destinations.

FedEx Turkey offers services through Paketim.com

FedEx Turkey, the local unit of U.S. freight carrier FedEx Express, offers services through the website Paketim.com, it was reported on November 11, 2005.

FedEx Turkey customers can receive up to 45 pct discounts in shipping prices when using Paketim.com. Express orders within Turkey are delivered the same day and express shipments to the USA, Canada and Europe are forwarded on the next day.

TPG buys out Turkish Logistics joint venture partner KOC

The mail, express and logistics company TPG N.V., through its subsidiary TNT Logistics Turkey, has signed an agreement to acquire full ownership of TNT Lojistik ve Dagitim Hizmetleri A.S by buying the remaining 50percent shares of the joint venture partner Koç Group. The joint venture is one of the leading logistics providers in Turkey and activities include warehousing, inbound logistics, container management and distribution.

Bank to heighten international profile

A 900-strong postal banking network has been launched across turkey. The Turkish postal telephone and telegraph’s (PTT) new project called PTTBANK was unveiled in a ceremony attended by transportation minister, Binali Yildirim and UPU director general, Thomas Leavey.
