Business Express has consolidated its delivery contract with mall order catalogue Lands’ End, gaining an extra 200,000 parcels a year. Business Express will undertake daily collections of packaged products from Lands’ End’s distribution centre In Rutland for transporting to Its national sortation centre In Lancashire, before final delivery to customers’ homes.

Turnover for the twelve months was £339 million from £332 million the year before. Profits increased fractionaUy from £6.0 million to £6.1 million for the oeriod, with the company citing the cost of investment in IT as a prime factor for the weak earnings.
The U.S. Postal Service and Consignia, the British postal system, are working to overcome customer complaints about an international delivery agreement between the two agencies earlier this year, the USPS said this week. As part of the three-year deal, General Logistic Systems, Consignia’s Pan-European parcel company, delivers USPS Global Express Mail and Global Air Parcel Post in Europe.
