Around 100 containers a month arriving at Southampton will be devanned, palletised and stored at Meachers warehouse complex in the port ready for picking, labelling and distribution to customers throughout the UK. Products will then be forwarded to Rexam Websters customers, including blue-chip names such as Coty, Avon and Procter & Gamble.
The contract was awarded following Rexam Websters decision earlier this year to consolidate production of its lipstick, deodorant stick and compact case packaging in France and the Far East.
Exel has been awarded a five-month contract by Mars Confectionary to handle the companys full range in the build up to Christmas. It is inaticipated that some 1.5 million cases will pass through Exels hub in Banbury, Oxfordshire, with more than 5,500 pallets being held in store.
