Postwatch moots agency search in information push

By MARK KLEINMAN Postwatch, the postal industry consumer watchdog, is looking at
hiring an ad agency as it seeks to inform the public about the
changes taking place in the mail delivery market. Postwatch, the brand name for the Consumer Council for Postal
Services, was launched in March to monitor the performance of
licensed postal operators, including Consignia, the parent company
of Royal Mail, and the Post Office.

Transport Giant TDG has opened a £3m distribution centre on the Wirral to handle a five year contract worth £5m with savoury flavourings manufacturer quest. The site has been purpose built for the food industry.

Exel wins contract from Land Rover

Tranport and logistics firm Exel has won a two-year contract with Land Rover valued at £2.5m per annum. Managed by Exels Automotive Management Services, the contract will be handled from Lawford Heath, near Rugby.

Edinburgh based Pollock to join Pall-Ex

Edinburgh-based pollock (Scotrans) is the latest company to join the Pall-Ex palletised freight network. The family-owned transport and storage company, which has a fleet of 100 vehicles, specialises in full and part load distribution. It operates out of two Scottish depots and has a subsidiary company in London. Commenting on the decision to join the Pall-Ex network, Mark Jackson sales and development manager for Pollock (Scotrans) says: We have always been struck by te professionalism of the Pall-Ex hub team and the commitment shown to the network by each of the members.
