TNT seeks mail delivery licence
THE FIRST application has been made for a licence to deliver mail since postal services were opened to competition by PostComm, the industry regulator, in March. TNT UK, a division of TNT Post, is seeking two one-year licences to operate an internal mail system for an unnamed bank and to provide a guaranteed next day delivery service to another company in the financial sector

On 10th May Postcomm began consultation on the proposed issue of a short term licence to G3 Worldwide Mail (UK) Ltd, a company with existing outbound cross border postal services, and on the proposed issue of two short term licences to TNT UK Limited, a company with existing, niche value-added postal services.
