Sanmina-Sci and UPS to provide global integrated supply chain solutions

Sanmina-SCI Corporation and UPS announced today that UPS Supply Chain Solutions will provide global logistics services for Sanmina-SCI customers. By utilizing their worldwide networks, Sanmina-SCI and UPS will work to create significant savings through inventory reduction, rapid order delivery, and the reduction/elimination of fixed expenses such as dedicated warehousing assets for its shared customers.
The first joint project is to support Sanmina-SCI’s Supply Chain Services Agreement with IBM, announced earlier this month. This agreement expands Sanmina-SCI’s fulfillment flexibility and speed in the United States, Mexico, Scotland, Hungary, Holland, Dubai, China, Japan, Malaysia, and Australia.

UPS consolidate customs clearance service

United Parcel Service has introduced a new service that combines global express delivery with consolidated customs clearance.

UPS said the service, UPS World Ease, would enable customers to ship multiple packages to many destinations in the same country as a single shipment.

This allows goods to move directly through customs as a single unit, reducing the need for warehousing, inventory and shipping, UPS said.
