UPS board sets quarterly dividend

The Board of Directors of UPS have declared a regular quarterly dividend of 28-cents per share on all outstanding Class A and Class B shares.

The dividend is payable Sept. 8, 2004, to shareholders of record on Aug. 23, 2004. The board acted during a regaularly scheduled meeting.

Head of Sales & Marketing for DHL Caribbean, Central and South America appointed

Gearing up for a strong focus on sales and marketing in 2005 and promising to maintain its leadership position in the Latin America region, DHL has appointed Mariano Dall’Orso, a veteran in strategic planning and development as the head of the Caribbean, Central and South America (CCSA) Sales and Marketing group.

Dall’Orso will be responsible for developing DHL’s sales and marketing strategy for the CCSA region and overseeing targeted initiatives that will help the organisation meet its customers’ demands and needs. Among the areas which Dall’Orso will manage are advertising, product development, customer service, ecommerce and pricing.

UPS Trade Direct’s “Warehouse in Motion” can now fly, drive or sail

UPS has announced the expansion of its Trade Direct services by adding air capability to the options for moving goods into the United States, in effect putting warehouses in the sky.

UPS Trade DirectSM services streamline the supply chain by making it easy to move goods directly from international factories through customs to multiple U.S. locations, eliminating the need for warehouse stops at the border for repackaging.

FedEx US to acquire Parcel Direct

FedEx Corp has announced an agreement to acquire Parcel Direct, a division of Quad/Graphics, for USD120 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close during the second fiscal quarter and is subject to customary conditions, including Hart-Scott-Rodino clearance.

Based on Parcel Direct’s current size, this acquisition is not expected to have a material effect on the fiscal 2005 financial results of FedEx.
