Paced by record international performance, UPS today reported solid gains in both revenue and net income for the fourth quarter.
The quarter also saw several non-recurring items, the most notable of which involved the final settlement of a tax dispute with the Internal Revenue Service.

The brightest spot for the world’s largest package deliverer remains its non-US business, which has seen operating profits more than double in the fourth quarter to $154m. That compares with a 9.1 per cent fall in operating profits in the US.
