Postal Service Says its Trying to Re-distribute Fedex Mail Load

Since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the amount of U.S. mail carried by FedEx Express has nearly doubled and service has improved, but the Postal Service continues to work to get mail back on commercial airlines. This means trucks are carrying 50 percent of the mail volume, while FedEx and commercial airlines evenly split the remainder. However, since the terrorist attacks, security concerns have restricted the cargo that airlines can carry, including mail.

Liberian Postal System in tatters as world observes 'post day'

On Wednesday as the world observed the 128th anniversary of Post Day, the Liberian postal system is in a state of collapsing never before known in the country’s recent history.

Coming out of 12 years of a brutal civil war which saw the destruction of national infrastructures, coupled with the emergence of a government that placed little or no emphasis on effective postal services, the woes of the post in Liberia abound.

Trinidad & Tobago postal services reform project

Trinidad & Tobago has received a US$11.45 million loan from the World Bank toward the cost of the Postal Services Reform Project. Part of the proceeds will pay for the supply, delivery and installation of office furniture, workstations and fixtures.

Jordan Post Plans E-Projects

Jordan Post is looking to set up Internet kiosks in 300 post offices as part of a larger goal of enabling people to access e-commerce and e-government services.

The Internet kiosk project will also provide a cost-effective way to provide Internet access to people in a country where PC penetration is still limited.
