Korea Post began a one-day or less guaranteed parcel delivery service to Hong Kong from Monday at 24 post offices in Seoul, the agency said Wednesday.
The special postal service insures parcels are delivered within a day and if parcels are not delivered within the fixed time Korea Post refunds postal charges for the service.
United Parcel Service has introduced SonicAir, a proactive shipment update service for same-day shippers. Customers can now receive updated shipment information, sent to a wireless devices, pager, phone, fax or e-mail address, without having to request it, or access the same information from UPS’s Web site.

At present, express shipments represent about 7 per cent of throughput at Chek Lap Kok, but the Airport Authority expects the number to increase to 13 per cent by 2020.
Tariffs for unreserved internal and external postal services will increase starting October 1
Romanian Post Office says that the tariffs for main postal services – simple mail, money orders, international money orders – will remain the same, as well as tariffs for EMS (Express Mail Service), SkyPak, e-Post, foreign parcel delivery and Par Avion.
The Royal Mail has banned the sale of stamps from its own sorting offices and stripped nearly 4,000 post offices across the UK of stamp vending machines.
Customers at most post offices around the country will now have to join lengthy queues if they wish to buy stamps at the counter.
The changes have gone through without any public consultation, leading to criticism of the Royal Mail’s “monopolistic attitude”.
