USPS Breakfast Discusses Marketing Strategies

The U.S. Postal Service’s ride-along program has generated $15 million in revenue since is inception in February of 2000, said Vito Fortuna, a sales specialist with the agency’s New York metro area direct marketing team, at a “Power Breakfast” sponsored by the team here yesterday.
The purpose of the breakfast was to present mail-based marketing strategies to publishers and direct marketers in the New York area.

First reduction in German postal charges in more than 50 years

RegTP, the German postal and telecoms watchdog, has given its backing to the announcement earlier this week by Deutsche Post, the country’s postal service provider, of a reduction in its postal charges. This will mean that carriage of a letter or postcard will be cut by an average of 7.2 per cent. These price cuts will be valid until the end of 2003.

TNT develops online clinical service

New drugs could be brought to market more quickly if a web-based delivery service from international logistics group TNT Express lives up to expectations.
TNT has developed a system called the Clinical Trial Network (CTN). It allows doctors, drug companies and test laboratories to communicate more effectively when planning shipments of goods used in clinical trials. CTN went live in Europe last year, and is about to be deployed globally.
