DHL Global Mail targets French e-commerce firms

The new solution enables professionals based in France to manage the dispatch of all their flows of goods to European destinations with the aid of a single information system.

The new solution enables professionals based in France, particularly in e-commerce, to manage the dispatch of all their flows of goods to European destinations with the aid of a single information system. DHL Global Mail Parcel already exists in some European countries providing pan-European delivery along with shipping services to the rest of the world.

The service standardises European delivery procedures from France by offering a single product, a single organisation, a single computerised interface and a single point of contact for all shipments, whatever their destination. The improved service thus contributes to increasing customer satisfaction, DHL Global Mail said in a statement.

With this solution, DHL Global Mail Parcel comprises intermediate transport, multi-country parcel distribution and a single information system to centralise the processes. This service enables the company to respond to the European development strategy of French e-commerce companies, allowing them to retain centralised control of their logistics from France.

DHL Global Mail picks up parcels directly from the sender and then takes them to its closest international platforms. The goods are then sorted by destination country to be dispatched by intermediate transport provided by DHL’s international resources. When they reach the destination country, they are treated as local parcels by the national postal operators, at special rates negotiated by DHL Global Mail.

In addition, the solution also enables its customers to view the whereabouts of their parcels at all times, thanks to online tracking via the Internet. This service assures efficient management of the shipments of e-commerce operators, with recorded delivery and handling of customer returns and undeliverable items, the two key factors in the successful development of the export business to European consumers, DHL Global Mail added.
