Singapore Post Limited signed joint declaration with Egyptian national postal organisation

Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) announced that it has signed a joint declaration with Egyptian National Postal Organisation today, officially establishing the bilateral partnership in the field of postal services. The Joint Declaration is signed by Dr Sherif Battisha, Vice Chairman, Relations and External Affairs of Egypt Post and Mr Ng Hin Lee, Deputy Group CEO of SingPost in the presence of the Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts of Singapore, Rear Admiral (NS) Lui Tuck Yew and the Minister for Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, Dr Tarek Kamel during the official visit of Dr Tarek Kamel.

SingPost and Egypt Post have worked together in the Postal Operations Council in the Universal Postal Union (UPU). SingPost chairs the Quality Improvement Group of the Letter Post Committee and Egypt Post is an active participant in this group.

With this declaration, SingPost and the Egyptian National Postal Organisation hope to promote cooperation and the exchange of information and experience to enhance the competitiveness of the postal services in both countries.

Mr Ng Hin Lee, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer said, “As postal operators, we have to innovate and evolve our business models in order to stay relevant, and deliver value for our customers. At the same time, we face pressures to provide quality, universal postal service at an affordable price, at both the national and international levels.

Forging closer alliances will enable us to pool experiences, and leverage on each other’s strengths so that together we are able to anticipate, innovate, and build for long term success. And today’s Joint Declaration with Egypt Post marks the first step towards developing future cooperation and businesses that will enhance the postal services for both countries.”
