Night Star Express, the European express logistics firm, has signed a franchise agreement to extend its services in Switzerland.
The company based on the Dutch-German border near Arnhem has agreed terms with Swiss overnight express specialist IN-X AG Innight Express, which has its headquarters in Zug.
The deal was signed at the start of this month, and takes effect from next month.
Night Star Express said the franchise agreement was the second sealed this fiscal year as it looks to aggressively expand its international activities. The company partnered with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in the Netherlands and Belgium back in March.
The express network involving 20 logistics partners moved more than 4.2m shipments in the 2011 fiscal year, a 7% growth on the previous year.
Matthias Hohmann, managing director of Night Star Express Logistics GmbH, said with IN-X AG Innight Express a new partner in the network, Night Star Express could establish sustainable operations in Switzerland.
He said: “By expanding our European overnight express network, we are working steadily on our growth strategy to expand and strengthen our market position at a European level. Our customers will now benefit increasingly from value-added after-sales logistics offered internationally at the highest level of quality.”
Giovanni Iorio, CEO of IN-X AG, said Night Star Express would be an “important partner” in his company’s international expansion.
He said: “With Night Star Express, IN-X AG is the quality leader in overnight industrial spare parts supply in Switzerland. The cooperation between our two companies represents a significant value for our customers and also provides us an interesting market in an exciting environment.”
