Swiss Post adds 30-minute, hour and two-hour delivery options

Swiss Post has revamped its express delivery service, Swiss-Courier, with three new delivery options – “Turbo”, “Rapid” or “Standard”. The Swiss national postal operator said today that the move took effect at the beginning of this month, aiming to better equip Swiss-Courier to meet the needs of its customers.

The new Turbo option promises to pick up and deliver items within defined cities and urban areas of Switzerland and Liechtenstein inside 30 minutes.

The Rapid option offers deliveries in 60 minutes, while the Standard service will transport items inside two hours in urban areas.

The Swiss-Courier services can be ordered by Internet or phone and come with delivery notification for recipients via text message and track & trace capabilities. Deliveries are made until 8pm.

Customers will be able to claim refunds on deliveries that are late, but will be notified if a delay occurs, as well as being notified when an item has been received.

“Critical”

Swiss Post said of its new express delivery line-up: “The rapid arrival of consignments is often critical for business success. Swiss-Courier ensures that your consignment arrives at its destination throughout Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein in the shortest possible time.”

Swiss Post said its courier services also seek to minimise their environmental impacts while taking the fastest point-to-point route during delivery, making use of bicycle transport as well as road and rail.

Customers looking for carbon-neutral delivery can pay a small extra charge “of no more than a few cents” for the “pro clima” service, Swiss Post’s carbon offsetting programme that offsets the climate change impact of shipments.
