UK Regulator Postcomm welcomes Simone Bos as new Commissioner
Postcomm is delighted that the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry has appointed Ms Simone Bos to be one of our Commissioners. Ms Bos was until 2001 on the Executive Board of the Dutch public postal operator, TPG Post BV, and has an extensive knowledge of the postal sector. Her appointment is for three years.
Simone Bos is an independent consultant in business strategy and European affairs, based in The Netherlands. She is also a member of the Supervisory Board of the state-owned Holland Casino, of the Advisory Board of Spencer Stuart Netherlands, an executive search company, and of a regional management committee of UNICEF.
Her earlier business career was with the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Public Works, and later with TPG NV. In the Ministry she held a number of senior positions in the Maritime, Telecommunication and Postal fields from 1980-1991. In 1991, she joined KPN NV, where she worked for 10 years for its subsidiary, the Dutch public postal operator, PTT Post BV, starting as head of International Relations. Subsequently she was appointed to several senior management positions (she was Managing Director of PTT Post International and Consumer Market and also Member of PTT Post’s Board of Directors) and was promoted to TPG’ s Mail Executive Board in 2000, where she was responsible for Value Added Services, International, Legal Affairs and Group Public Affairs. She left in 2001. Born in 1955, Ms Bos in 1979 gained a Masters in Law from Utrecht University.
