Burris Logistics increases buying power with acquisition of Trinity Logistics

Burris Logistics, provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions, has acquired Trinity Logistics.

“We are pleased to welcome the team members, agents, customers and carriers of Trinity Logistics to the Burris family,” said Donnie Burris, President/CEO of Burris Logistics.

“As a $3 billion-dollar organisation with 1,700 Team Members, 16 locations throughout the United States and multiple Business Units in the transportation and supply chain industry, Burris Logistics was poised to be the partner that would create more opportunities for the well-established Trinity Logistics.

“The strong Trinity brand will remain in place, and their successful team will continue to focus on providing high-quality logistics, with the additional resources of our transportation assets and supply chain solutions.”

Trinity Logistics, with headquarters in Seaford, DE, is a Third Party Logistics (3PL) Provider, specialising in freight arrangement and supply chain solutions with annual revenues of $550 million.

“The path to the acquisition began with a conversation between two CEOs and good friends,” shared Jeff Banning, President/CEO of Trinity Logistics, referencing early dialogs between himself and Donnie Burris. “We talked about mutual goals, strengths, challenges, and our desire to be good stewards of family-focused, family-run companies. As we discussed our future and common visions, it became clear that we could become a stronger, more competitive organisation by joining forces.”

The acquisition of Trinity Logistics was completed last week. “All aspects of the Trinity community will find that familiar team members and procedures will remain in place,” outlined Billy Banning, President of Trinity Logistics.

“Burris is an asset-based 3PL, offering everyone greater credibility and flexibility in closing new prospects. We are excited to have found the right partner in Burris. While our corporate offices are only 23 miles apart, there is no distance between our core values, servant leadership and guiding principles.”

“Both providers have dedicated technology teams which will allow us to grow technology platforms to attract new customers, carriers and agents,” explained Nick Falk, President of Burris Freight.

“It is our intent that the Burris Freight Management brand will be replaced with Trinity Logistics as the transportation business unit of Burris. When you consider the resulting combination of experienced teams, technology, networks and the ability to offer end-to-end supply chain solutions, without a doubt Trinity Logistics and Burris Logistics will be stronger together.”
