Swiss supermarket giant partners with Swiss Post

Switzerland’s largest retail company Migros has teamed up with Swiss Post to allow customers to collect online orders in its stores.

The new service will be available at 300 branches across Switzerland. It is integrated into Migros’s existing PickMup service, allowing people to buy products from Migros brands and pick them up in a store.

Customers with a Swiss Post online account will be able to direct their parcels to a chosen branch as well as send letters.

“The partnership with Swiss Post provides added value for our customers during their everyday routines,” said Matthias Wunderlin, head of marketing at Migros.

Thomas Baur, head of PostalNetwork at Swiss Post, said: “Migros, with its dense, nationwide network of branches is an ideal partner for us. We want to be where our customers are and with this service this we’re very well placed indeed.”

Migros’s sales hit €25.4 billion in 2018, with €1.3 billion invested in operations, including improving its online and physical stores. Online sales increased 7% to €1.88 billion.
