Spanish Nacex Delivers 3.9 Mln Parcels H1 2002

Spanish express delivery company Nacex, an affiliate of Spanish distribution and logistics firm Grupo Logista, delivered a total of 3.9 million parcels for the first six months of 2002, a 20 pct year-on-year increase, the company reported on August 28, 2002.

Nacex expects to deliver eight million parcels in 2002, compared to 6.8 million deliveries in 2001. Nacex manages a network of 245 franchises. [Editor’s note: Grupo Logista, the parent of Nacex, posted a net profit of 35.9 mln euro ($35.3 mln) for the first six months of 2002, an 18.3 pct year-on-year increase. Franco-Spanish tobacco company Altadis owns a 55 pct stake in Logista.]
