Maltapost launches new courier service

A new International mail and parcel service offering speed and security has just been launched in Malta and Gozo by Maltapost plc. Aptly titled Maltapost Express International, this new service offers delivery to key worldwide destinations in the shortest possible time.

Speaking at a media launch to which members of the business community were also invited, Maltapost CEO Stephen Sultana said the new service offers global coverage to over 200 countries around the world. Mr Sultana also emphasised the security element of the new service.

Maltapost Express International also incorporates proof of delivery, and the service provides for compensation in instances of loss or damage, with the option to the client of purchasing additional insurance in instances where this is felt necessary.

This new service will be supported by an effective customer care service, as the majority of enquiries can be handled via internet on the Maltapost website.

Maltapost have come out with a very attractive pricing structure, dependent mainly on weight and destination. A discount structure is also being introduced for contract clients who commit to certain monthly volumes.

Mr Sultana emphasised that by far the biggest advantage of this new service is that it is instantly available at any of Maltapost’s retail branch network of 31 outlets in Malta and Gozo. Mr Sultana added that as in all courier services, clients can get in touch with Maltapost via telephone 2596 1596 to arrange for collection of items from home or office.

It was emphasised that this new Express International service is being offered by Maltapost in addition to its already existing Expedited Mail Service EMS. This service covers some 50 destinations via different postal administrations. The new service is primarily aimed at those customers with contacts overseas, who are on the lookout for speed of delivery, global coverage, security and peace of mind. “We are aiming at this extremely vital sector, and we are in no doubt that Maltapost will soon have its fair share of a very demanding business,” Stephen Sultana concluded.
