Nightspeed wins national industry award for sixth year in a row

For the sixth year in a row, a West Midlands parcel distribution company has won a top security award from the national body that represents the transport management sector.

Tipton based Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express has won the ‘Secure Parcel Carrier 2005’ accreditation awarded by the Institute of Transport Management. Independent research has shown that loss and damage figures for parcels delivered by Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express are the lowest in the industry

The independently owned company, which has twenty four depots throughout the UK, uses sophisticated tracking technology and fully trained and vetted staff to sort and load packages which are delivered between the collection and delivery depots in sealed and tagged security cages in a fleet of delivery vehicles which are all fitted with the latest anti theft technology.

Announcing the award, Patrick Sheedy, Media & PR Director for the Institute of Transport Management stated: “The accreditation was designed to recognise the advances within the European distribution sector over the previous twelve months. The decision to present Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express with this coveted prize is the result of research which included the polling of Institute members who depend on secure delivery services and is a true reflection of the high esteem the company enjoys within the industry. Nightspeed sets the standards for other delivery companies to follow and we are delighted to include the company on our Roll of Honour as ‘Secure Parcels Carrier 2004.’

Welcoming the award, Ian Pickford, Nightspeed’s Managing Director emphasised “Our strength lies in our security and our reliability is reinforced by our rigorous procedures. The award only serves to strengthen our commitment to continue to care for customer’s consignments. We will not be resting on our laurels, but driving forward with a programme of investment. Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express is and will continue to be, the securest carrier in the business.”

NOTE TO EDITORS

Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express is an independently owned express parcel distribution delivery network focused on secure parcel delivery. The Black Country company was the subject of a management buy out in July 2002 securing 1,100 jobs.

Independent researchers have proved that Nightspeed’s loss and damage are the lowest in the industry. Every year, since 2000, Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express has been voted ‘UK Secure Parcel Carrier of the Year’ by the Institute of Transport Management. The company has a turnover of c.£43m and supports some 5,000 customers through its 24 depots throughout the UK.

The Nightspeed Secure Worldwide Express brand holds a unique position within the UK parcel market, having originally been part of Group 4 Security, in that its systems, procedures and people are focussed on security and low damage, a proposition which has significant appeal to the pharmaceutical, high value retail, technology and communication sectors.

The loyal customer base also benefits from other specialist areas such as European and worldwide delivery services, Premium Insured Services, Printspeed point-of-sale service and Govmail, the specialist government mail and parcel delivery service.

The company prides itself on being passionately customer focused with a ‘can do’ people driven culture at every level of business.
