GLS Ireland opens Parcel Shops in all depots

GLS Ireland is offering more service and customer proximity with a totally new product range: beginning immediately, private and commercial customers with sporadic shipments can hand in their parcels at one of the six GLS Ireland Depots – at attractive rates.

„We offer our Parcel Shop customers comprehensive service with respect to parcel shipments”, says Olaf Stüwe, GLS Ireland’s Managing Director. “A regular delivery time of less than 24 hours in the whole of Ireland – including Northern Ireland – is normal for us.” The service also includes comprehensive Internet shipment tracking and an automatic insurance coverage for every parcel (in accordance with the invoiced value of the goods up to a max. € 350 per parcel). The Parcel Shops are located in Dublin, Cork, Knock, Letterkenny, Limerick and Carlow. The shops are open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Soon, more shops will be opened in Ireland.

Five sizes – five price categories

The shipping price depends on the size of the parcel and not on its weight. In order to determine the size, the longest and shortest side of the respective shipment will be measured. From XS (Extra-Small) to XL (Extra-Large), the parcels are divided into five different sizes with five different price categories.

The sender must take the following into consideration: Parcel Shop packages may not weigh more than 30 kg, nor exceed the maximum measurements as defined by GLS Ireland. Parcels must be packed adequately, be in accordance with standard commercial practice and safe for transport. You can easily access the GLS Packaging and Shipment Guidelines on their homepage. In fact it is as simple as that: just bring your parcel to the GLS-Depot, fill out the dispatch form and off it goes!
