Indonesian postal, mobile, logistics forms agree to cooperate
Postal service PT Pos Indonesia, telephone cellular operator PT Telkomsel and PT Gapura Angkasa have engaged in strategic cooperation in fulfilling their respective commitment to guarantee the quality of their public service, comprising the telecommunications service, the postal service and the cargo transport service.
The cooperation agreement was signed here on Wednesday by PT Pos Indonesia managing director Hana Suryana, PT Telkomsel managing director Kiskenda Suriahardja and Gapura Angkasa managing director Robert D. Waloni, in the presence of Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Sugiharto.
Cooperation between PT Pos Indonesia and Gapura Angkasa is focused on the sending of highly valuable goods by aircraft so as to expedite the transport of goods in various areas, which is required to support the acceleration of national development, according to information from PT Pos.
PT Pos Indonesia and PT Telkomsel have agreed to cooperate in the provision of the warehousing service for equipment to be used in the construction of Telkomsel infrastructures, especially in the locations of the assets of PT Pos throughout Indonesia.
Cooperation between PT Pos and Telkomsel also includes the provision of service applying the cellular network by giving auto-refill service to Telkomsel’s customers and allowing bank transactions through all post offices.
PT Pos managing director Hana Suryana explained that the cooperation agreements with the two partners are expected to foster the maximum utilization of PT Pos assets all over the country so as to create higher value added for the company.
PT Pos Indonesia now has 216 main post offices, 1,046 post office branches in urban areas, 2,628 post office branches outside urban areas and 16,392 post offices managed by PT Pos partners.
PT Telkomsel have built relay towers in sub-districts throughout Java and Bali, and plans to expand its network to all areas throughout the country, according to Telkomsel Managing Director Kiskenda Suriahardja.
