Fiege offer new range of standardised logistics services

Fiege has announced that it is now offering a range of fully standardised logistics services under the name FIEGE NOW.

The Greven-based company said the new product line addresses a market segment which up to now did not quite fit in with traditional solutions operations: businesses for which customised logistics concepts are not suitable because of small order volumes or financial circumstances.

“We repeatedly come into contact with businesses for which a customised handling of their logistics due to their low order or shipping volumes is not economical under current standards,” said Julius Wegmann, Head of Omnichannel Development at Fiege. “FIEGE NOW is a fast, clearly quantifiable and low-risk offer that carries itself because of synergy effects and is therefore affordable even for many smaller retailers.”

Fiege is starting off with eCommerce fulfilment. Wegmann explained why: “The pandemic was a major boost to e-tailing. A growing number of businesses sell their merchandise online now and therefore seek budget-friendly logistical support for this.”

With the NOW product family, said Wegmann, the benefits are: “No set-up costs, no long contract terms, but instead a standardised logistical solution with a clear price tag that is ready to roll-out within a few weeks only. That is our promise.

“By merging volumes,” continued Wegmann, “we create the determining momentum which allows us to offer our tried and tested services to a very broad target group. Next to the logistical fulfilment this also applies to our customer platform. All customers have access to real time reporting, can view their customers’ orders and modify them up until the time of shipment.”

For Peter Scherbel, member of the board of the Fiege Group and responsible for Operational Excellence, eCommerce fulfilment is only the beginning for FIEGE NOW: “Our services portfolio is unbelievably large yet at the same time also highly individualised. That is why we aim to gradually define our services and offer them as modular, straightforward products to our customers.

“The first steps in this direction have already been taken. FIEGE NOW provides scalable customer service to its clients as well as full-service receivables management. The international roll-out of FIEGE NOW is already a fixed item on the agenda for 2022.”
