Austrian Post: Delivering in Slovenia was the next logical step for us

On 4 July, Austrian Post’s new delivery subsidiary, Express One Slovenia, began operations in Slovenia.

At the start, the newly founded logistics company has two logistics centres in Maribor and Ljubljana, where the headquarters are also located. In addition to these locations, several delivery bases ensure nationwide delivery throughout Slovenia. Austrian Post’s logistics centre in Kalsdorf, Styria, will also play a central role in the distribution of import and export parcels. “Due to our high quality, we were motivated by international customers to offer our services on the Slovenian market as well. We already have relevant export volumes to Slovenia, and we also have a strong market position in the neighbouring countries of Austria, Croatia and Hungary. Self-delivery in Slovenia was therefore the next logical step for us,” explainsDI Peter Umundum, Managing Director for Parcel & Logistics, Austrian Post. MODERN SERVICES, MODERN INFRASTRUCTUREExpress One Slovenia is aimed at B2B and B2C customers in times of growing online trading. The services include express shipments, returns, cash on delivery, the transfer to other addresses or parcel shops, notifications by SMS, e-mail, Viber app or telephone as well as the insurance of parcels. Modern pick-up stations can be opened via smartphone app, they can also be used for returns and payment.

Parcels will be delivered within Slovenia on the next working day after delivery. AUSTRIAN POST INTERNATIONAL NOW ACTIVE IN TEN OTHER COUNTRIESIn 2020, a total of 38.8 million parcels were transported in the Slovenian courier, express and parcel market (CEP market). By entering this attractive market, Austrian Post is active in a total of ten other countries in addition to its core business in Austria: Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Turkey and Slovenia.
