Wincanton announces new CFO

Wincanton has appointed Mr Tom Hinton who will join the Board as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from 15 August 2022.

Tom’s wide experience includes Group CFO positions at Infinis Energy plc, Domestic & General Ltd and, more recently, WE Soda Limited, an international mining and chemicals business.

Dr Martin Read CBE, Chairman of Wincanton, said: “We are delighted to appoint someone of Tom’s calibre to the Board. He has a strong financial and commercial track record and will be a great asset to the Company”.

James Wroath, Chief Executive Officer of Wincanton, said: “I am pleased to welcome Tom to his new role as we lead Wincanton through the next stage of our development. He has broad experience and an engaging and innovative style that I believe complements Wincanton’s strategic direction. I would also like to place on record my sincere thanks to James Clarke who has been a great support to me and the business in his role as interim CFO since 1 March 2022”.

Tom Hinton said: “I very much look forward to joining Wincanton and becoming part of the executive management team. Wincanton’s strong operational performance, blue-chip customer base, and considerable growth potential make this an exciting opportunity”.

Mr Clarke will continue in the role of interim CFO until Tom’s arrival.

Mr Hinton does not currently hold any Wincanton plc shares and no further information in connection with his appointment is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13R.
