TNT extends logistics contract with US Ford
TNT Logistics North America, a unit of Dutch mail and express deliveries group TNT NV, has extended its contract with U.S. Ford Motor Company for the delivery of logistics services for the F-series truck plant in Kansas City, USA, TNT Logistics said on June 20, 2006.
The extended contract between TNT Logistics and Ford, which have been cooperating since 2002, expires in 2009.
TNT is the biggest supplier of logistics services for Ford in Kansas City, TNT said. The logistics company is responsible for the sequencing and transportation from three facilities encompassing more than 200,000 sq m of warehouse space.
TNT Logistics (www.tntlogistics.com) posted sales of $4.22 bln (3.360 bln euro) for 2005 with a 36,000-strong workforce operating in 28 countries. The unit manages over 79 million sq m of warehouse space and runs several complex transportation networks.
