Network of postal services to be modernised

The entire network of Pakistan Postal Services would be modernised on international standard through computerisation to provide affordable prompt service to people at their doorsteps.

Newly appointed Chairman and Director General, Pakistan Post Office (PPO), Arshad Khan in his maiden interview with APP on Sunday said he has accepted the new assignment as a challenge and by the grace of Almighty Allah and under the dynamic leadership of President and Prime Minister, he will leave no stone unturned to bring Pakistan Post Office at par with international standard. He said that PPO is a public utility organisation and not a profit earning entity and he will make all out efforts to ensure better, quick and prompt postal services to all segment of the society. He said PPO possessed a vast potential, which he added will be fully exploited to meet the future challenges without comprising the quality of service.

Chairman said that people from all walks of life will soon repose their full confidence in Pakistan Post Office as its postal services which will be comparatively better than all other private couriers in terms of economical rates, safe, fast and reliable. Arshad Khan said that the main objective of PPO is to provide domestic as well as international postal and allied services to the people at an affordable cost, on equitable basis and at standards which meet their needs.

He said he just wanted to make PPO as the most public welfare oriented organisation in the country by offering international standard services to the people.
